Kalar

XMP workflow

Exporting a Lightroom-compatible XMP look from Kalar

XMP look export transfers compatible color behavior. Grain, blur, bloom, halation, geometry, and masks cannot be represented faithfully by a color lookup transform.

Prepare the grade

Set exposure and color on representative images. Treat optical effects as Kalar render settings rather than part of the transferable look.

Export

Choose Adobe Lightroom (XMP), a supported size, a clear name, and export through the Pro workflow.

Import and validate

Use the import workflow supported by your current Lightroom version. Test several exposures and hues.

Expect rendering differences

Adobe and Kalar can differ in RAW development, working space, tone mapping, and output transform. Validate intent, not pixel identity.
